Hey SoberFit Tribe,

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a blog update, and I’ve missed connecting with all of you! After taking a brief hiatus from social media, I’ve been hard at work behind the scenes doing what I love most—coaching clients towards alcohol freedom and sharing my story on various platforms to inspire women to be courageous and change their drinking habits for a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle.

Recently, I had the opportunity to be a guest on the "Feel Lit Alcohol Free" podcast, hosted by the amazing Ruby Williams and Susan Larkin. 🎙️ It was a meaningful experience where I got to dive deep into some of the most personal aspects of my life—things I haven’t always felt comfortable sharing.

During the episode, I opened up about the emotional challenges of infertility and how I turned to alcohol to mask my pain and sadness. These are topics that are often shrouded in silence, but they are crucial to talk about, especially for women who feel isolated by these experiences. I also touched on the societal pressures that come with being childless, pressures that are rarely acknowledged but are deeply felt by many women.

Here are a few key thoughts I shared during our conversation:

  • On Being Childless Not by Choice:
"And if you're childless, not by choice, you don't have to numb. You don't have to hide. It is not your fault, just like I learned with alcohol."

  • On Pronatalism and Disenfranchised Grief:
"I know there's so much to not having a child. It's the loss of the identity of being a mom and being part of the mom club and going through all the experiences that everybody else does. This is the kind of grief, this disenfranchised grief, that keeps on giving."

  • On The Power of Sharing in Overcoming Challenges:
"If you figure out that you're not going to be a mom, you don't have to be alone. And if I can help you in any way to not go down the road of numbing and instead learn how to process your grief and find community."

Our discussion was heartfelt and underscored the urgent need for validation and support for women navigating these challenges. It's conversations like these that remind me why I’m so passionate about the work I do. We all need a space where we can be open about our struggles and find a community that understands and supports us.

I highly encourage you to join the conversation by tuning into the "Feel Lit Alcohol Free" podcast. You’ll hear more personal stories and gain valuable insights into living a fulfilling alcohol-free life.

Who knows? You just might feel lit! 🔥
